ABB Robotics & Discrete Automation manufactures end-of-arm tooling for its robotic equipment including three versions of its FlexGripper palletizing gripper for end-of-line applications: the Clamp, which comes in two sizes, is designed for handling cases; the Claw is for heavy-duty, high-speed bag palletizing; and the Vacuum gripper, designed as a plug-and-play extension to the ABB IRB 460 or IRB 660 palletizing robots for cases, can handle 40 kilograms and up to 10 products at the same time.

B&B Packaging Technologies, L.P.
Tooling for B&B’s Robotic LEAP (Line Extension Automated Packaging) is custom designed for combination bag/sack packing and case and slip sheet manipulation. LEAP is an innovative development to automate the packaging process of bags and pouches into cardboard boxes. With B&B’s simple user interface and software, no special programming skill-set required to properly configure pack patterns.

Marchant Schmidt specializes in ultra-hygienic designs, from conveyors to custom end-of-arm tooling used in robotic handling operations for cheese and other foods. Marchant Schmidt partners with Staubli Robotics to build end-of-arm tooling with stainless steel instead of aluminum and avoid catch points that could harbor bacteria. Even the routing of cables and hoses is critically important when designing ultra-hygienic end-of-armm tooling.

The SD-610 tape applicator is an end-of-arm robotic tape application system designed to handle the demands of precise tape placement. The lightweight tape applicator enhances productivity by removing manual application and cutting, instead relying on a robust robotic tool to automate the process. Intended to be mounted on a robot wrist joint, the recommended minimum robot size is 15kg.
Yaskawa America, Inc., Motoman Robotics Division
Motoman has a dedicated in-house tooling group within its Automation Group that provides custom part-holding fixtures as well as end-of-arm tooling. This capability allows customers to deal with Motoman as a single-source for their custom robotic systems and fixtures/tooling – and AG’s involvement assures that the fixtures/tooling will work properly with the robot system. Motoman also provides a single source for custom end of arm tooling that meets application needs. This includes mechanical grippers, vacuum grippers, bottle grippers, and multi-function grippers. Grippers include all electricals and pneumatics.
