Food & Beverage Processing Equipment

Morrison Container Handling Solutions - Food & Beverage Processing Equipment Product Image

Morrison Container Handling Solutions supplies can opening systems for food processing lines that help standardize the canning process while increasing return on investment for processors. Infeed timing screws allow customers to process cans at a high speed while reducing labor demands. These heavy-duty stainless-steel systems are wash-down friendly and provide complete processing functionality in a single operator station: feeding, washing, opening, dumping, rinsing and can crushing. Once the cans are fed through the screws and opened, they are processed through Morrison's fully equipped dump stations. Each dump station is configured to flow into the elevated can twist and chute, emptying the contents of the can. Once the can is inverted, the elevated twist chute vibrates to ensure all contents make it into the dump area which has a magnetic grate to collect excess metal shavings. Fixed nozzles wash out the cans before they enter the crusher.

Blister & Clamshell Packaging Equipment

Morrison Container Handling Solutions - Blister & Clamshell Packaging Equipment Product Image

Morrison Container Handling Solutions offers custom engineered blister and clamshell handling equipment to meet customer needs. Morrison can customize tray and container denesters to automate the manual, repetitive task of separating and setting a packaging tray on a conveyor line. Automated and customized denesters utilize timing screw or pneumatic technology to eliminate manual, repetitive processes that can slow down production lines running semi-rigid packaging containers, including clamshells. An example of an innovative customized solution by Morrison: to integrate denesters into existing lines while other actions are being performed to save time and space while increasing throughput and significantly improving the bottom line. For example, an update of a labeling process with a denesting and renesting system could allow a customer to partially denest containers for labels to be applied, then quickly renest containers to continue them moving down a line.

Multipacking Equipment

Morrison Container Handling Solutions - Multipacking Equipment Product Image

Morrison Container Handling Solutions offers custom-engineered equipment that will create pack patterns for variety packs or multi-pack needs. Integrating various different design approaches, Morrison builds full systems that prepare containers to go into the final stage of the boxing, cartoning, bundling, or shrink wrapping process. Morrison designs systems to be nimble, adaptable and responsive, equipped with controls packages that run different variety packs or multi-pack options all on one system. If a customer needs to run different containers on the same system, Morrison can even equip it with quick change parts to easily adapt container handling to the new product size now and in the future. Recent custom multipacking applications have included: a divide/stack/group system using timing screw drive units for macaroni and cheese cups in 2, 4 or 6 multipack patterns; and integrated systems for variety pack sorting and filling of single serve coffee pods; and a three-screw stacking custom design assembly for sleeving sour cream tubs.

Specialty Equipment

Morrison Container Handling Solutions - Specialty Equipment Product Image

Morrison Container Handling supplies customized solutions for container rinsing applications that remove unwanted particles using a stream of air or water, depending on the application. Morrison's rising solution inverts containers using timing screw technology to positively control and accurately present them to the rinser nozzle. After the air or water rinse is complete, timing screws revert the container right side up and present it back to the conveyor to continue down the production line. This solution can be integrated into existing lines and is wash-down friendly.
