AB Technology, an Excelis Company, offers fully custom-engineered automated Pad and/or Label machine which denests trays and clamshells, applies a shot of glue then inserts the absorbent padding material, applies either a top label and/or bottom UPC label, then upstacks the products at speeds up to 160-200+ parts per minute. AB delivers American-made quality for a single or dual lanes for thermoform/clamshell production.

Kraken Automation, an Excelis Automation company, designs and integrates production and full-line packaging systems that move products from production to pallet. As a single point of contact, Kraken brings control and precision to complex packaging lines, providing merge, divert, lane-balancing, and downstream case stacking and packing solutions. The company combines more than 30 years of engineering expertise, proven automation components, and integration experience to deliver product flow solutions that connect upstream production with downstream packaging.

Kraken Automation, an Excelis Company, engineers robotic pick-and-place case packing systems as part of fully integrated end-of-line lines. Its documented top-load configuration uses robotic pick-and-place to group and place bottles, cartons, bags, jars, tubs, and clamshells into corrugated cases, with recipe-driven changeovers suited to operations running multiple pack patterns or SKUs. Kraken works as an integrator rather than a single-machine supplier: it pairs its packers with third-party case erectors and sealers, and coordinates upstream infeed, orientation, and accumulation along with downstream checkweighing, coding, reject, and palletizing so the packer runs in sync with the rest of the line.

See the Feeding & Inserting Equipment page on this company's website.

Excelis has a variety of labeling options. AB Technology builds a machine that handles thermoformed clamshells and trays at up to 180 BPM. SureKap, also an Excelis Company, offers an inline labeler that fills in well on a variety of lines, but especially with SureKap’s capping machine or before a Volumetric Technologies filling machine. Engineered to increase production efficiency and accuracy, this machine handles a variety of bottles/containers, which could be round or non-round.

Kraken Automation, an Excelis Packaging Automation Company, designs and integrates automatic case packing systems for end-of-line secondary packaging. Rather than treating the case packer as a standalone machine, Kraken engineers each system around the product, pack pattern, production rate, case format, and available footprint. Loading methods include top loading, drop loading, and robotic pick-and-place, handling bottles, cartons, bags, jars, tubs, and clamshells. Kraken integrates third-party case erectors and sealers into a coordinated system and can tie case packing into upstream infeed, orientation, and accumulation, as well as downstream checkweighing, coding, reject, and palletizing. The result is higher throughput, less manual handling, and more consistent case loading across the line.
